Refrigerator Light Not Working
A refrigerator light that stays dark is almost never a sign of a bigger cooling problem -- the light circuit is completely separate from the compressor and cooling system, so a dead bulb does not mean your food is at risk. It usually comes down to one of three things: the door switch that turns the light on and off, the bulb or LED module itself, or the wiring between them.
Start by checking whether the light works when you press the door switch by hand (the small button or lever in the door frame that the door pushes in when it closes). If pressing it manually turns the light on and off reliably, the switch is fine and the problem is the bulb, socket, or wiring. If nothing happens no matter how you press it, suspect the switch first.
Safety first. A refrigerator runs on standard household current but also contains a pressurized, sealed refrigerant system.
