Who We Are
RepairKitHub is an informational website about appliance repair parts, operated by Canamax Corp. We publish repair guides, symptom diagnostics, and parts-compatibility information, and we route interested readers to Amazon's marketplace when they want to buy a part. This Privacy Policy explains what data RepairKitHub collects when you visit, why we collect it, and how you can control it.
RepairKitHub Does Not Sell Anything
Unlike a typical online store, RepairKitHub has no shopping cart, no checkout, and no payment processing. We never ask for your name, mailing address, email address, or payment details, and we do not maintain user accounts. The only commercial action on this site is a link that sends you to Amazon's search results for a part you're looking for — see our Affiliate Disclosure for how those links work, and our Terms of Service for more on how you can use this site.
Information We Collect
When you browse RepairKitHub, our analytics beacon records a small set of anonymous, aggregate signals so we can understand which guides are useful and where visitors get stuck. Specifically, we store:
| Data point | What it looks like |
|---|---|
| Visitor ID | Random ID stored in your browser's localStorage (key rkh_vid) |
| Session ID | Random ID stored in your browser's sessionStorage (key rkh_sid), cleared when the tab closes |
| Page path | e.g. /whirlpool-washer-wont-drain |
| Referrer hostname only | e.g. google.com — never the full referring URL or its query string |
| Device class | Mobile, tablet, desktop, or bot, derived from technical signals |
| Country | Two-letter country code supplied by Cloudflare's network (the CF-IPCountry header) |
| Scroll depth | Milestones such as 25%, 50%, 75%, and 100% of a page |
| Time on page | How long a page stays open in your browser tab |
| Clicks | Clicks on internal links and outbound links, such as our Amazon buttons |
| Copied text | Text you select and copy from a page |
| Search queries | Terms entered in our on-site search box |
None of this is tied to your real-world identity. We never ask who you are, and there is nothing in our systems that could tell us your name from this data.
Information We Do Not Collect
We do not store your IP address, your browser's raw User-Agent string, your name, your email address, payment or billing details, or any account credentials — because there are no accounts to create in the first place. We do not use cookies for advertising, and we do not run remarketing pixels. We have never integrated Google Analytics, the Meta/Facebook pixel, or any third-party advertising network.
How We Use This Information
We use the data above strictly to improve RepairKitHub itself, for example to:
- see which repair guides are read the most and which ones visitors abandon quickly
- catch broken pages or slow-loading sections
- understand whether our compatibility tools are actually useful
- measure, in aggregate, how many readers click through to Amazon
We do not sell this data, rent it, or share it with data brokers or advertising networks.
Do Not Track and Cookie Preferences
RepairKitHub honors your browser's Do Not Track (DNT) signal. If DNT is enabled, or if you reject our cookie-consent banner, our analytics beacon does not record any events at all — not even the anonymous ones described above. This is enforced automatically the moment your browser sends the request; no additional configuration is required from you.
Where Data Is Stored and How Long We Keep It
Analytics data is stored in Cloudflare D1, a managed database operated by Cloudflare on our behalf. We keep this data only as long as it remains useful for improving the site's content and performance, after which older records are periodically deleted. We do not maintain an indefinite historical archive of individual visitor sessions.
Third Parties We Work With
Because RepairKitHub is a static site delivered through Cloudflare's network, a small number of third parties see limited technical data as a normal part of how the web works:
- Cloudflare — our hosting and content-delivery provider, and the operator of the database described above.
- Google Fonts — our page design loads font files from
fonts.googleapis.comandfonts.gstatic.com, which see your browser's request for those font files, like any font-hosting service. - Amazon — if you click a link to view a part on Amazon, Amazon receives your visit like any referral and handles that transaction entirely under Amazon's own privacy policy and terms. RepairKitHub is not involved in that purchase.
We do not have relationships with advertising exchanges, data brokers, or social-media pixel providers, and none of the above third parties receive anything beyond what's necessary for hosting, fonts, or an outbound click.
Your Choices
You can limit or stop the collection described in this policy at any time by:
- turning on the Do Not Track setting in your browser;
- rejecting the cookie-consent banner when it appears;
- clearing your browser's local storage and site data for repairkithub.com, which removes your visitor ID and starts you fresh.
California Consumer Rights (CCPA/CPRA)
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act, gives you the following rights over the limited analytics data described above:
- Right to Know: ask us to disclose the categories of data we've collected about you, where it comes from, why we collect it, and the categories of any third parties we share it with.
- Right to Delete: ask us to delete the data tied to your visitor ID, subject to limited exceptions such as security or legal recordkeeping.
- Right to Correct: ask us to correct inaccurate data, though because our analytics data isn't tied to your identity, there is typically nothing to correct.
- Right to Opt Out of Sale or Sharing: we do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, so there is nothing to opt out of; if that ever changes, we will update this policy and provide an opt-out method first.
- Right to Non-Discrimination: we will never deny you access to RepairKitHub's content or treat you differently because you exercised a privacy right.
- Right to Limit Use of Sensitive Personal Information: we do not collect sensitive personal information in the first place, so there is nothing to limit.
To submit a request, email [email protected] with the subject line "CCPA Rights Request." We will respond within 45 days.
EU/UK Rights (GDPR / UK GDPR)
If you are located in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, the GDPR and UK GDPR give you the following rights over the analytics data described above:
- Right of Access (Art. 15): obtain a copy of the data linked to your visitor or session ID.
- Right to Rectification (Art. 16): correct inaccurate data.
- Right to Erasure (Art. 17): ask us to delete your analytics data ("right to be forgotten").
- Right to Data Portability (Art. 20): receive that data in a structured, machine-readable format.
- Right to Object (Art. 21): object to our processing of your data.
- Right to Restriction of Processing (Art. 18): ask us to limit how we use your data while a request is pending.
- Right to Withdraw Consent: at any time, without affecting processing already carried out.
Lawful Basis for Processing
We rely on your consent (Art. 6(1)(a)) for the analytics cookies and local-storage identifiers described above — which is why declining our cookie-consent banner stops all collection — and, to a lesser extent, on our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f)) in keeping the Site secure and working correctly. We do not process EU/UK personal data for contract performance or marketing, since RepairKitHub has no orders, accounts, or marketing emails.
International Data Transfers
Our infrastructure providers — Cloudflare (hosting and database) and Google (font delivery) — may process data outside the EEA/UK. Where that happens, it relies on Standard Contractual Clauses or another lawful transfer mechanism under each provider's own data processing terms.
Data Protection Contact
To exercise any GDPR or UK GDPR right, email [email protected] with the subject line "GDPR Data Request." We will respond within 30 days. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority.
Other US State Privacy Rights
Residents of Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, and other states with comprehensive privacy laws have rights to access, correct, delete, and obtain a copy of the limited analytics data we hold, and to opt out of targeted advertising and profiling — rights that are easy to exercise here, since RepairKitHub doesn't run targeted advertising or build advertising profiles in the first place. Send requests to [email protected]. We will respond within 45 days, extendable to 90 days with notice.
Children's Privacy
RepairKitHub is intended for a general, adult audience researching appliance repairs and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from children, and since we don't collect names, emails, or account data from anyone at all, there is no account-level data of any kind to worry about.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as RepairKitHub's features change. When we do, we'll revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to check back occasionally if you'd like to stay informed.
