How to confirm it has failed

Symptom: Dishes come out with food residue, spots, or a cloudy film, or you notice leftover debris in the tub bottom after a cycle.

Check: Remove and rinse the filter assembly under the tub, and check that the spray arm spins freely and its jets aren't clogged -- these are the first things to check before assuming a pump has failed.
